SPANGLISH NOMINATED FOR SUMMER MUSIC AWARDS

Suriname is getting ready to embrace the second staging of the "Suriname Summer Music Awards" 2014 editions in the capital city of Paramaribo. The new and improved 2014 version, has seen the event attracting some high profile sponsors and moves into a much bigger venue. Some of the top artist of the calender year 2014, from different genre of urban and cultural music has been nominated in several different categories.

The Bilingual Reggae Dancehall artist Spanglish who has been reaping nothing short of success for this calender year, is also nominated in the "Peoples Choice Category" for the very first time. Spanglish scored a mega hit earlier this year with his one drop reggae single "Love to the Beat ft Lucious" which has placed the artist under spotlight of the selecting committee.

Last year Kaseko star Cyril from "More Love Band" walked away with the prestigious Peoples Choice Awards however, this year appears to be much more competitive with the addition of other kaseko rivals such as the Aptijt main man, Micheal Deira, Surinamese golden boy Damaru from the Love messengers, youngsters such as, No Space, Adika, Jamal. Benaja and many more.

Spanglish who has spent a lot of time touring Internationally embrace the fact that he was nominated for the awards. "First and foremost I want to show my appreciation to the selecting committee for nominating me for the prestigious awards. It gives me a good feeling to know that my work is appreciated and now its up to the the peeps to vote for Spanglish. In fact I want to send my best wishes to all the other nominees, and it doesn't matter who walks away with the awards on the 29th, we are all winners. mentioned Spanglish.

Spanglish who now has a fast growing international fan based also spoke about the fact that voting can only be done locally in Suriname. "These guys are lucky my international friends and fans are not allowed to vote. But i hope next year even if i am not nominated that any and everyone who wants to vote has the chance. because some artist have a bigger fan base internationally than locally.... just text SA! to 2992 to vote for me and come enjoy the event on the 29th in the Flambouyant park."Giggled Spanglish...
